Green Plant Protection (GPP) is the short cut of the project under the title of Utilization of advances of ICT developments in mobile learning in order to promote interactive learning for adult people in the field of ecological agriculture.
GPP will provide an easy accessing of all what is important to know about plant protection in ecological agriculture.
Plant protection is focused on Slovakian conditions, as there is no such comprehensive source available until now in the country.
The project will provide useful information for developing environmentally safe agricultural technologies heading to sustainable development that is one of the top priorities of European Union.

Association for Hungarian Organic Farming (AHOF) being an open and non-profit organization aims to gather all actors of Hungarian organic sector and invites stakeholders, experts and civilians to develop the organic movement in Hungary. The organization as the active participant of LOVEt project has gathered data about the Hungarian organic sector. Due to extensive contact network AHOF is able to invite stakeholders of the topic and cooperate with them in the framework of the project.

GPP is a shortcut of the Leonardo da Vinci (LdV) project – transfer of innovation under the title of Utilization of advances of information communication technologies developments in mobile learning in order to promote interactive learning for adult people in the field of ecological agriculture. GPP provides all what is important to know about plant protection in ecological agriculture using web platform designed for standard and mobile version.
The project will contribute to the setting and testing of processes leading to the ensure quality in further professional training, preparation, and lifelong learning.
Mobile devices can be used anywhere, anytime, including at home, on the train, in the field, what is invaluable for work-based training.
The method will promote informal learning and increase the volume of cooperation between universities and farmers.
The project and its deliverables will offer additional career development training for users, and the practical implications of the project could significantly contribute to the reduction in the use of pesticides in agriculture, which are the main impacts envisaged.

Green plant protection (GPP) is an initiative to bring plant protection in ecological agriculture closer to the farmers/users using mobile devices.
These technologies will ensure active access to lifelong learning, which is the European as well Slovak priority concerning the vocational education and training.
Mobile devices are seen as a permanent instrument of lifelong learning, they are pervasive and ubiquitous, and they create new forms of knowledge, new ways of accessing it and could engage young people.
The main advantage of GPP mobile learning is that the learning is not bound to a location, it is interwoven with other everyday activities, and learning phase is located to the rural areas and the farmer’s natural environment.
Through a web platform, which is designed for standard and mobile version and registration procedure linked to mobile devices, illustrated information is available in relation to pests, diseases and weeds for field crops, vegetables and orchards and vineyards (each category has the same layout within the four key chapters - general parts of descriptive character, field crops with the most important plants in Slovakin agriculture).
The online materials are available in Slovakian, Hungarian, Italian and English.
The target group of the project are organic farmers, the environmentally sound pest control methods and thus GPP mLearning should also be used in conventional or integrated agriculture.
The method used promoted informal learning and increased the volume of cooperation between universities, companies and farmers.

The major exciting challenge facing by the project partners was showing that organic farming can be improved by the use of new technologies which integrate knowledge, innovations and experiences.
The project provided useful information for developing environmentally safe agricultural technologies heading to sustainable development such as biological regulation of insect and pathogens, agroecological weed regulation.
The project and its deliverables offered additional career development training for users, and the practical implications of the project significantly contributed to a reduction in the use of pesticides in agriculture.
Further, the environmentally sound pest control methods can also be used in conventional agriculture.
The GPP project provided facilities for the active access to lifelong learning in the field of organic agriculture and non-chemical plant protection.
The need of lifelong learning in Slovakia is underlined (almost 40 % of the Slovakian land area is farmed, the most numerous working group are the workers 45– 49 year old with lower-secondary education, only 3,3 % of the Slovakian population aged from 25 to 64 is participating in lifelong learning, the highest rates of participation in education and training are often found around the largest cities).
The main advantage of GPP mobile learning is that the learning process is not bound to a fixed location, it might be interwoven with other everyday activities, and its learning phases are able to be located to the rural areas and the farmer’s natural environment.
This presents freedom in use and an instant practical support in decision making.
For the spreading of the innovative ideas and information on the issues of green plant protection the web site created in a way to permit the end users to search, locate, and retrieve digital educational objects to use and support their educational needs.
The site is operating in Slovak, English, Hungarian and Italian languages.
Mobile platform is optimized for the iPhone screens with only the main contents adapted to find easily the requested information, with as few clicks as possible.
Besides, the web and mobile versions of GPP, a book under the title of Green plant protection was published at the end of the project.
